SHILLONG: The Youngsters of Lajong continue to show domination in the Shillong Premier League Super Division 2015, as they do a double over Royal Wahingdoh FC, this time with a convincing 2-0 victory held on Friday at the JN Stadium Shillong.

Bipin Singh and Samuel Lalmuanpuia were the two goal scorers for the young Lajong side in the 33rd and 35th minute respectively.

The first half kicked off well for the defending champions and scored the first goal of the match in the 33rd minute when Bipin Singh found himself one on one with the keeper after receiving a through ball from Jacob and brilliantly shot the ball between the keeper’s legs to give his side a 1-0 lead over Royal Wahingdoh.

Two minutes later, Jacob’s perfectly timed pass found Samuel Lalmuanpuia, who then lobbed the ball over the keeper’s head to make it 2-0 for Lajong. Samuel Lalmuanpuia is currently the leading scorer in the league with 7 goals.

The second half was a much more intense affair between the two sides. Royal Wahingdoh tried hard to get back into the game and had few chances but unfortunately were not able to convert them into goals.

In the final stages of the game Lajong had two more golden opportunities to find the net again but lacked the finishing touch. The match however, ended in favour of Lajong with the two first half goals courtesy Bipin Singh and Samuel Lalmuanpuia.

With this win Lajong remain on top of the table with 23 points from 10 matches. The Reds will play their next match on the 20th of October against Shillong United FC.
