SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC Grassroots Football Festival was held in Mawprem today.

The Club has already conducted Grassroots Football Festival in various parts of Shillong and have reached out to more than 1200 Children.

The aim is to get many children from the state to love and play the beautiful sport, football.

Technical skills, ball possession, fun football games and small-sided games were organised for the Children in Mawprem, by the Club’s Coaching Staff and operations team.

Head of Youth Development Gumpe Rime said, “It was very encouraging to see parents and all the people from the locality of Mawprem accompanying the kids to the ground at Nongsohpoh.”

“The attendance was great. The kids were very excited and enjoyed a lot. The United Gorkha Association left no stone unturned in helping us to make the program a big success today. We also would like to thank Mawprem Sports Club and the Football Committee of Nongsohpoh for their help and support. We are also thankful to the parents for sending their kids and also encouraging them to play football at a young age.”
