NEW DELHI: Newly-appointed Head Coach of McDowell Mohun Bagan, Sanjoy Sen is relishing taking charge of the Mariners, but he mentions that to be at the helm of a Club of Bagan’s stature is a big responsibility.

Sen was officially appointed as the Head Coach of the Club yesterday (December 9), after the three-member Technical Committee and the management of the Club unanimously proposed his name to take charge of the Team.

“It is a dream come true for me as I always wished to take charge of a big club like Mohun Bagan,” Sen told the Club’s official site.

“I am feeling very happy but at the same time, I know that I have a big responsibility on my shoulder. I will try my best to bring back success to the club.”

Sen was appointed the Head Coach for Mohammedan Sporting last season, following the exit of Nigerian coach Moshood Bola. Sen led Mohammedan to clinch the IFA Shield as well.

He is now looking forward to the Federation Cup, to start his innings with Bagan with a high.

“This is a big challenge for me. Last year, after becoming the Coach of Mohammedan only a week before the start of the IFA Shield, I helped them to win the tournament. Still, we have more than 2 weeks left for the start of the Federation Cup.

“I am hopeful of a positive result in this tournament,” he said.

The Club has mentioned that the Team will resume training on Friday 12th December at 8 am at the Mohun Bagan Athletic Club Ground.
