SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh FC mauled a hapless Guwahati Town Club 7-0 at the Madan Heh stadium here on Monday to make it three wins in a row in the U-15 Youth League.

The Royals drew first blood in the very first minute through a Rheadolf Nongneng goal and were unstoppable from thereon as they slammed home seven goals to complete a famous win over their Guwahati rivals.

While Rheadolf scored in minute 1 of the tie T Santosh Singh (31’), Bhabokstar Shyrkon (47’), A Rakesh Singh (55’), Phrangki BUam (70’, 82’) and Abedniko Kurbah (83’) were the others who found the back of the nets.

With this win RWFC extended their lead at the top of the table with 9 points in their kitty from three matches with their nearest rivals Guwahati FC sitting at the second place with 4 points.

Earlier, the day started on a bright note for the hosts as Rheadolf breezed forward to strike in the 54th second much to the delight of the fans.

The RWFC lads continued to dominate proceedings and a minute after the half hour mark the lead was doubled by Santosh Singh. GTC did well to restrict Wahingdoh to a 2-0 lead at half time.

However, any hopes of a comeback for the Guwahati side was diminished barely two minutes into the second half with Bhabokstar sailing home the third goal for the hosts.

The pressure clearly got on to the rivals and the same was apparent from a 55’ goal scored by Rakesh Singh. A casually hit lofted shot bounced over the sloppy rival custodian who only watched as the ball lazed into the nets.

The carnage did not stop there. Phrangki made a god run forward and with only the goalie to negotiate tapped home the fifth goal for the Royals with absolute ease.

The local boys literally toyed with their rivals all along and a double strike post the 80th minute only added to the humiliation of GTC. First it was Phrangki who completed his brace in the 82’ while a minute later Abeniko Kurbah who came in as a substitute headed one in to complete the 7-0 rout of GTC.
