SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh FC went down to Malki SC in a Shillong Premier League match at the JN Stadium in Shillong on Wednesday.

The Royals went into the lead twice in either half but were unable to retain the advantage eventually going down 4-2 to Malki.

A brace from Milancy Khongstia (26’ and 51’) did not prove enough to restrict the Malki side.

Earlier the Royals started on a dominating note commanding control on the pitch. Their efforts paid off when Milancy Khongstia sent one sailing to the nets from inside the box. The Royals could have doubled the lead barely five minutes later but Nabachandra Singh’s fine header from close range went just over the crossbar.

With four minutes to go for the half time Malki put one back to restore parity.

Crossing over RWFC did not waste much time in getting back the lead. It was Milancy once again who made it 2-1 in favour of the Royals with a 51st minute strike. However, a double strike by Malki after the hour mark took the game away from the hosts. Malki struck in the 62nd and 68th minutes respectively to go home with a 4-2 win.
