GOA: Nike Premier Cup 2016 All India Finals had an eventful day as four matches took place in Nagoa & Navelim Ground. In Group B, Pune FC had to swallow a defeat in the hands of Mohammedan Sporting Club where Sports Authority of India-Guwahati got the better of local outfit Salgaocar FC later in the afternoon. In Group C, Royal Wahingdoh and Minerva Academy FC shared the spoils between them at Navelim ground in the first match of the day. Ozone Academy FA outplayed Mumbai FC in the other match from the same group.

Surajuddin Munshi scored on either side of the break for Mohammedan SC, where Lansingam Reamei scored a consolation goal for Pune FC just one minute to the final whistle.

Royal Wahingdoh got the early goal in the 11th minute through Mahesh Singh, but Amarjeet Mishra restored parity for Minerva Academy FC within 5 minutes. Royal Wahingdoh found them again in the driving seat when Thoiba Singh netted an own-goal after the hour-mark. Shubham Sarangi, the prolific striker from the North-Indian side, cancelled their lead again to secure one point in the opening fixture of the final round.

Salgaocar FC had a tough run against SAI-Guwahati as the visitors played a scintillating brand of football and Bishnu Bordoloi scored two immaculate goals in the second half to clinch all the three points.

Ozone Academy FA hit the gas since the kick-off and found the back of the net on 25 minutes. Ozone Academy doubled their lead before the break. On the resumption, Ajay Alex scored a fine brace to seal a win for the Bangalore-based team. Ranson Patel scored for Mumbai FC in the 76th minutes but it couldn’t deter Ozone Academy from gathering 3 points.
