NEW DELHI: It’s not been a month since the inception of Second Division League in Eastern conference and it has already started to grab myriads of eyeballs. Since the first whistle of the tournament, Second Division League has come up with one after another exuberant instances. Neroca FC, one of the five debutants this season, came out to ply their trade against Fateh Hyderabad AFC ahead of 12 thousand odd crowds. Although the match ended in a stalemate, football came out as the real winner of the show.

Mohammedan Sporting, the Kolkata powerhouse, smothered Guwahati FC in their first match at Barasat Stadium riding on their enormous fan base. Albeit their first win was marred while Ajay Singh was given marching order in the dying minutes of the match. The Black Panthers clinched a hard-fought win against Fateh Hyderabad AFC in their last matchday, thanks to the strikes from Deepak and none other than Ajay Singh, on his comeback match from the suspension.

Having fielded the youngest team in the tournament, Fateh Hyderabad AFC shown their grit and spirit in true sense. Fateh Hyderabad AFC, although fell short in the field, earned many a plaudit from football pundits.

The mouth-watering bout between Gangtok Himalayans SC and Neroca FC have been a perfect humdinger till now, which was witnessed not less than 10,000 strong crowd last week- a subtle advertisement of Indian football. Neroca FC could hold their nerve till the last whistle and eventually squeezed out an away win, thanks to the late winner from Ronald Singh. Neroca FC, one of the four debutants from Eastern conference, amassed 7 points from 3 matches so far. Incidentally, Neroca FC is the only team in Second Division League till now to keep their net unscathed- a prudent feat indeed.

Guwahati FC, having gone down against Black Panthers in their debut match in Kolkata, shown their true grit and came back with a bang against Fateh Hyderabad AFC. They were handed a loss by Neroca FC on their last match day, current leaders in the chart.

Neroca FC, current topers with 7 points from 3 matches, are going to host Mohammedan Sporting at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium day after tomorrow. Mohammedan Sporting have also earned same points from as many games so far, being separated by goal difference. No matter who’re going to make the cut at the end of the zonal round, all the outfits have amused the football connoisseurs so far and would continue to do so.
