KALYANI: Inter Kashi returned to winning ways after a gap of two matches when they outclassed Namdhari FC 4-1 in the 2023-24 I-League at the Kalyani Stadium on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

In the match between two debutants, Inter Kashi took early control of the match by scoring two goals within 15 minutes. They led 2-1 at halftime and pumped in two more after the break to pocket full points. While Edmund Lalrindika (3’), Deepak Devrani (15’), Mario Barco (52’), and Tomba Singh Haobam (80’) scored for the winners, Stephen Abeiku Acquah (36’) was the lone marksman for Namdhari FC.

With this impressive victory, Inter Kashi have taken their points tally to 22 from 15 matches and now they occupy the fifth position in the table. Shillong Lajong, who beat NEROCA FC in an earlier match on Sunday, also have 22 points, but Inter Kashi hold the advantage of having a victory over Shillong Lajong in their only meeting so far. The Shillong side, however, have played a match less than Inter Kashi.

Namdhari FC continue to struggle with their erratic form. A draw, followed by a victory in their last two matches lifted their fortune to an extent, but the defeat today left them with 14 matches from 12 matches, currently the 11th place in the 13-team competition.
