CHENNAI: Relegated side HOPS FC ended their 2024-25 Indian Women’s League campaign on a spirited note, holding Sethu FC to a 1–1 draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Both goals were scored in the first half.
Gladys Amfobea (45+2’) scored the equaliser for HOPS in the first half to cancel out Hadijah Nandago’s (38’) strike for Sethu. Despite both teams pushing for a winner in the second half, the game ended in a draw with neither side able to break the deadlock.

The result offered a small consolation for HOPS, who had already confirmed their relegation ahead of this match. Still, the point meant they showed character in their final outing of the season. They finish eighth in the standings with nine points from 14 matches — a disappointing end to what has been a tough campaign.Sethu FC, meanwhile, endured an inconsistent season themselves.
Once considered contenders, they failed to string together consistent performances and end their league run in mid-table (fifth) with 17 points from 14 matches.
