NEW DELHI: HOPS FC held Kickstart FC to a 1-1 draw, as the two teams shared the points at the Ambedkar Stadium, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in their Indian Women’s League 2024-25 match. Kickstart FC led 1-0 at the break.

Renu (10’) opened the scoring for Kickstart FC, but HOPS’ Ghanaian forward Constance Achiaa (84’) scored a late equaliser to steal a point for her side.

Hops FC remain at the bottom with five points from 10 games, whereas Kickstart FC have 10 points from as many matches. As of now, both teams struggle in the relegation zone.

Kickstart FC broke the deadlock in the first 10 minutes when a perfectly-placed cross curled in from the left wing, found Renu inside the box. She met the ball with a header, guiding it past the keeper.

The match continued with both teams refusing to back down. Kickstart FC looked dangerous going forward, carving out multiple attacking moves, but their final execution let them down. On some occasions, they found themselves caught offside, a testament to Hops FC’s well-organised defensive line. Their backline held firm, reading the runs well and stepping up at the right moments to frustrate Kickstart’s forwards.

Meanwhile, Hops FC relied on their set-piece precision and well-placed shots to keep the pressure on the visitors. Their deliveries into the box were spot on, forcing Kickstart’s defence into action repeatedly.Defender Constance Achiaa took matters into her own hands, as she pulled the trigger from close to the halfway line. Kickstart goalkeeper, Linthoingambi Devi was perhaps a step too ahead of her line, as the ball nicked the top of her gloves before going in, with six minutes of regulation time left.
