KALYANI: GMSC, Mumbai registered their first win in I-League 3 Play-Off when they beat Dalbir Football Academy 2-0 in a Group B match at the Kalyani Stadium on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
GMSC, who scored once in each half, now have three points from three matches having lost the first two outings. Dalbir Football Academy from Punjab stay at the bottom of the table with one point from four matches.
The winners opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Himasnhu Patil, while Vidipt Dua rounded off the tally with a goal in the 89th minute.
In the second match of Group B, Kerala outfit SAT Tirur’s winning run was halted when Abbas Union Football Club from Hyderabad held them to a 2-2 draw.
In fact, the Kerala side barely escaped defeat as they trailed by two goals till the 89th minute before substitute Unise K scored in quick succession (89’, 90+3) to fetch a point for his team. Abbas Union scored their goals in the first half. While Vikas Yadav opened the scoring converting a penalty in the 16th minute, Imran Ali doubled the lead in the 32nd minute.
SAT Tirur now have seven points from three matches and Abbas Union have collected two points from three outings.
