NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation, after a detailed discussion with the clubs, rescheduled the match between DSK Shivajians and Mohun Bagan to 17:30 Hrs from 19:05 Hrs while the venue and date will remain unchanged. This step was taken to aid the travel plan of Mohun Bagan to PR China to play their AFC Champions League preliminary round-2 encounter against Shandong Luneng Taishan FC.

Hero I-League champions Mohun Bagan AC won their AFC Champions League qualifier against Tampines Rovers by an unassailable margin of 3-1 on 27th January and they are now pitted against Shandong Luneng Taishan FC in Preliminary round 2. Mohun Bagan officials met Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF and Sunando Dhar, CEO, I-League today and their upcoming Hero I-League match is preponed to 17:30 Hrs, DSK Shivajians officials also joined the meeting via teleconference. Mohun Bagan bandwagon will catch an early morning flight from Mumbai to PR China on 31st January 01:25 Hrs.

Kushal Das congratulated Mohun Bagan on their success in Asian stage, “Hero I-League champions Mohun Bagan set a benchmark in Indian football by winning their AFC Champions League qualifier against Tampines Rovers. They are representing the entire nation on the biggest stage of Asian football and on the behalf of Indian football fraternity, we’d like to congratulate them and wish them all the very best for their upcoming matches.”

Meanwhile, DSK Shivajians, who are all set to make their Hero I-League debut memorable, didn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand and reshuffle the schedule. Kushal Das didn’t forget to acknowledge DSK Shivajians’ true spirit, “DSK Shivajians are on the verge of history and they allowed us to reshuffle their match keeping in mind the opposition’s interest, a mere ‘thank you’ would undermine their gesture.
