NAIHATI, WEST BENGAL: Diamond Harbour FC overcame the challenge of SESA Football Academy, Goa, in a rather easy way, winning 3-0 in a Group A I-League 3 Play-Off match at the Naihati Stadium on Monday, September 30, 2024.   

The Bengal side, who led 2-0 at half time, are now firmly placed in the group with six points from two matches. SESA have three points from three matches.

Prolific goalgetter Naro Hari Shrestha opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, followed by another in the 44th minute. With the match well in control, Diamond Harbour FC added another through Supriya Pandit in the 77th minute to carry home full points.

In the other Group A match, Keinou Library and Sports Association edged Assam side Karbi Anlong Morning Star FC 2-1 to log full points. Like Diamond Harbour FC, the Manipur side also have won two matches in a row in the group and are in race for the qualification.

Karbi Anlong, on the other hand, suffered their second defeat. They have three points on the virtue of their victory against SESA Academy, Goa.  

KLSA, who led 1-0 at half time, scored their goals through Surchandra Chandam Singh (6’) and Meitankeishangbam Clinton Khuman (48’). Moirangthem Malemnganba reduced the margin for the losers in the 74th minute.
