MUMBAI: Mumbai Football Club host Mohun Bagan in the round 9 of the Hero I-League on Wednesday (February 15, 2017) evening. Mumbai returns to Cooperage after a poor run of form which saw them losing four matches on a trot.

Meanwhile, visitors Mohun Bagan, who are currently second on the table, will look to make the most of the game against Mumbai tomorrow.

After a goalless draw in the Kolkata derby, Mohun Bagan will look to get back to winning ways.

“The match versus Mumbai will not be an easy one, it will be tough, but we will try to win it,” said Bagan manager Sanjoy Sen.

“We don’t believe what has happened in the past. It is a new season, and with some new additions, we are looking for a win,” Sen added.

The Mohun Bagan coach sounded confident about a positive result in tomorrow’s match and stated that the so-called “smaller teams” will definitely improve and tomorrow’s game will be no different in the way they approach a difficult match.

Mumbai, who were narrowly beaten by Aizwal in their last match at Cooperage, are expecting a tough battle against Mohun Bagan.

“We are in a very bad phase. It happens when we have limitations in budget and players, and we want to achieve something extraordinary,” said Santosh Kashyap, Mumbai coach on the side’s aim this season.

Captain Steven Dias will not be available for Mumbai’s match against Bagan as coach Santosh Kashyap looks to overcome his worst spell as a manager.

Kashyap maintained, “Away games are tough and I believe in playing attacking football, and in that, we lost the matches.” He added, “At home, we have an advantage and we will try to take the full advantage — try to win all three matches.”

“We will try to finish in the top-3 and that has not changed,” Kashyap expressed. “We have ten matches remaining from now on till the end of the season, and we will definitely try to achieve our target.”

It will be a feisty affair when the two teams face each other at Cooperage tomorrow as both sides will have plenty to prove. Mohun Bagan will look to close the three-point gap on leaders East Bengal, whereas Mumbai will try to make the most of their home advantage.

The match is scheduled at 07:00 PM and it’ll be aired live on Ten 2.
