AIZAWL: As Aizawl FC prepares to play Bengaluru FC tomorrow at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Aizawl, Bengaluru FC are also leaving no stones unturned as they are determined to leave Aizawl with full points.
Bengaluru coach Albert Roca admits that they’ve not been having a satisfactory season so far, but also added, “The title is still a possibility, we must push ourselves towards the direction of the trophy.” Unwilling to dwell on their previous matches which have not yielded as many points as the players and fans would like to have, Roca, emphasised the importance of tomorrow’s match, “We have come here to do our best.”
Bengaluru FC defender Sena Ralte also looks forward to the match and added, “Our coach selects players according to their performances, and lets us play his beautiful passing game which I enjoy a lot.”
Bengaluru FC have played 7 matches out of which 3 resulted in a victory for them, with 2 draw games and 2 defeats. The 11 points earned from these matches place them at the 5th slot in the Hero I-League table.
Aizawl FC have, in the meanwhile, been having a moderately good season having won 5 of the 8 matches. With 1 draw and 2 defeats, they have 16 points with only Kingfisher East Bengal and Mohun Bagan above them on the table. If Aizawl FC are determined to emerge champions at the end of the season, a win against Bengaluru FC tomorrow would be crucial.
Khalid Jamil, Aizawl FC coach exclaimed ahead of the match, “Bengaluru FC are a good team, we will have to be very careful tomorrow.” Known for his defensive games, Jamil also added, “We will have to defend and attack as well. If we want the three points to ourselves, we will have to be quick in utilising all our chances.”
Brandon Vanlalremdika, Aizawl FC midfielder praised coach Khalid Jamil, “Our coach has wisely been making use of the different abilities of the players, playing under him has been a wonderful learning experience.”
As matches against Bengaluru FC drew a large crowd of Mizo football fans in the last season, a large number of spectators are expected to turn up for the match tomorrow too.
The match will kick off at 02:00 PM and it’ll be streamed live on i-league.org.
