GOA: Sporting Clube De Goa, having just bagged the Goa Professional League, is now all set to start their Hero I League 2015-2016 campaingn with their first home match against Kingfisher East Bengal. Sporting Clube De Goa has chosen to play all their eight home matches from PJN Stadium, Fatorda, which is the centre of Goan Football.
Flaming Oranje walks into this tournament as a representatives of Goan Football, flooded with best of Goan talent. The club has groomed local talent and is committed to its vision of promoting them at the national and global stage. Sporting has invariably been one of the highest recruiters of Goan players playing professional football and has received immense support and respect for this policy.
Barring the four foreign recruits the team mainly consists of local lads.
Another striking feature of Sporting this season has been the average age which stands significantly low at 23 years. The club stands strong by its principal which is to ‘Play Football The Goan Way’. Goa is well known for its love towards football and Sporting Goa stands right there as a perfect example of peoples club. The club is not just a football team but it is the collective representation of various parts across Goa.
The press conference was addressed by President of Sporting Clube De Goa Mr. Peter Vaz who stressed the need to focus on development of the game through grass roots. He also mentioned the vision of Sporting which is to develop local talent and stressed on the fact that The Flaming Oranje consisted majorly of the best talent from Goa. Mr Vaz also announced some interesting the highlights of this season being presented by Sporting for the benefit of the fans and public. He also mentioned the importance of public and fan support asking the Goan football lovers to come out in huge number to support the Flaming Oranje.

The Conference was also addressed by Mr. Elvis Gomes who highlighted the importance of I-League and the role Sporting has played in development of Goan football talent. He mentioned the need for people to support the real essence of Indian football.
The Sporting head Coach Mateus Costa said he was excited about the upcoming I-League and mentioned the fact that he was looking forward confidently with a fairly balanced side with him.
Club President Mr. Peter Vaz and GFA President Elvis Gomes unveiled the Home and Away jersey of Sporting Clube De Goa. The local lads Rowlin Borges and Cajeten Fernandes joined them in their sparkling new colours along with the club captain Odafa Okolie and Head Coach Mateus Costa.
