NEW DELHI: Gangtok Himalayan Sporting Club are all set to host their maiden Second Division League match when they come out tomorrow against Neroca FC. Paljor Stadium is coming back in national football map once again since United Sikkim plied their trade back in 2012.

Gangtok Himalayan SC, one of the four debutants this season, clinched an important win in their last outing while they travelled to Hyderabad in last match day. The Sikkimese team, who played two away matches so far, already started to earn plaudits from football pundits courtesy their free flowing courageous ball game. They faced mighty Black Panthers in the first match day and settled with a goalless draw. A point against one of the favourites provided them enough boost for the remaining tournament.

The youngest team of the tourney, Fateh Hyderabad AFC, could not match up with their pace and had to bow down to the Sikkimese outfit at Lal bahadur Shastri stadium. Gangtok Himalayan SC unfurled their valiant football ahead of the Hyderabad football fans and plundered three points. Most importantly, they could manage to maintain their goal unscathed till now, underlying their resilience and undaunted defensive prowess.

Neroca FC set their foot in Second Division League while they played a scruffy draw against Fateh Hyderabad AFC in front of 12 grand home supporters. Although they enjoyed more than 60% ball possession, the winning goal eluded them. Neroca were raging like anything and dashed Guwahati FC on the next day by an unassailable margin of 2-0, thanks to the first half goals by Johnson Singh and Chingkhei.

Paljor Stadium as well as the passionate football fans of Gangtok are anticipating to see a high-octane match tomorrow. None can write off any of the outfits beforehand, both camps will step on the gas from the first minute itself to register a win and prove their supremacy in the Eastern Conference.
