I-LEAGUE Media Team
NEW DELHI: Hero I-League are pleased to renew their association with Global fantasy sports provider FanXT, for the second edition of the Fantasy I-League.
The word on the social media and from the fans was to bring the Fantasy game back, which attracted a number of users from India and abroad in the last edition of the I-League. As many as 2000 users signed up for the game last season, and were into loggerheads with other teams.
The game this season will be starting from the Gameweek 5, beginning on Saturday, January 7, 2015.
Working hand in hand with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the Malaysian-based startup announced the launch of Fantasy I-League (http://fantasyileague.fanxt.com); the fantasy football manager game for India’s premier Club football league.
Regarding the timely birth of Fantasy I-League, FanXT CEO Melvin Wong reasoned, “Why should we put I-League at the backbenches when we can make football appreciation into the limelight for the Indian market?
“This is what Fantasy Sports’ potential is – to get fans to pay attention to the finer details in the game, thus harnessing their passion for the game, yet giving fans a wholesome experience in return.”
Hero I-League CEO Sunando Dhar concurs, “After the success we had with the Fantasy I-League the last season, we wanted to bring the game back. This season we are hoping to get a wider fanbase in the game and hope to see more fans registering to the game.”
As fantasy managers, the Indian Football fans can form their own Hero I-League football team from a selection of players which include the likes of Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC), Ranti Martins (Kingfisher East Bengal), Tolgay Ozbey (Dempo SC), Boithang Haokip (Shillong Lajong FC), Arata Izumi (Pune FC), and so on; competing to earn the title of the Legendary Fantasy Manager.
