KOLKATA: Muskan Subba struck deep into stoppage time to rescue a 1-1 draw for Gokulam Kerala FC against Sethu FC in an exciting Indian Women’s League 2025-26 encounter at the National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
The two former IWL champions entered the contest under pressure after suffering defeats in their previous outings and showed clear intent to secure all three points. The opening exchanges were lively, with Gokulam probing early through Priyadarshini, whose effort tested Sethu goalkeeper Anjila Subba. However, it was Sethu who seized the initiative in the 16th minute.

A floated delivery from Nirmala Devi Phanjoubam caused confusion inside the Gokulam box. Abigail Antwi failed to connect, while goalkeeper Shreya Hooda misjudged the flight of the ball. The lapse proved costly as Kaviya Pakkirisamy, unmarked and alert, timed her run perfectly and calmly slotted the ball into a gaping net to give Sethu the lead.
The goal lifted Sethu’s confidence, and they pressed for a second. Grace Lalrampari twice tried her luck from distance, only to be denied by Shreya, while Abigail squandered a promising chance midway through the half, directing her header straight at the goalkeeper from another Nirmala cross.

Gokulam struggled to gain attacking momentum before the break, with Cidália Daniel Cuta their primary outlet. Despite her industry and movement, her efforts were comfortably dealt with by the Sethu defence and goalkeeper.
The second half saw Sethu repeatedly threaten on the counter. Abigail was again denied by Shreya, who produced two sharp diving saves to keep her side in contention. Gokulam responded with greater urgency, and Phoeby Okech Owiti came close to levelling the scores, only for Anjila to parry her shot away.
As the clock ticked down, Sethu appeared poised to seal the victory. Lynda Kom Serto struck the frame of the goal late on, a miss that would prove costly.

In the third minute of added time, Gokulam finally found their breakthrough. Phoeby unleashed a fierce effort from distance, which took a deflection off Muskan and bamboozled the goalkeeper before finding the back of the net.
The dramatic equaliser sparked celebrations among the Gokulam camp and heartbreak for Sethu, as both sides were forced to settle for a point apiece after a fiercely contested battle.
