NEW DELHI: U-19 I-League debutantes DSK Shivajians open their account in the U-19 I-League 2014/15 as they take on PIFA Sports at the DSK Football Field on Sunday, December 14, in the second match from the Maharashtra Zone.

DSK SHIVAJIANS U-19

Training Routine – The training schedule and plan used at the Liverpool International Football Academy – DSK Shivajians is the same which is used back at the Liverpool Academy in Kirkby. The players have been provided with state-of-the-art training facilities just like back home. The Academy also have yearly plans which helps in monitoring the development of each and every player.

Practice Venue – The players train at the DSK Dream City Football Field, which is based on the DSK Dream City. The venue has of a state-of-the-art artificial 4G turf. This venue will also act as the home ground for the forthcoming Under 19 I-League campaign.

Practice Games played – Over the past six months, the players have participated in a number of practice games against the likes of Pune FC U-19, U-17s, Falcons, Deccan, ELAN, Air India and more. The results have been positive and the boys have learned something or the other with every game. The players have responded well to victories, as well as to losses. They have been excellent in training, showing a fantastic appetite in training while being positive and committed in everything they have been asked to do.

Training Routine – The players initially trained twice a week plus gym, until a month back when the training became 4 times a week plus a friendly match during the week.

The focus of the training has been on keeping possession of the football as well as physical development of the player.

Training venues – The team regularly trained at the Colaba backgarden and Karnatak football ground. The last 10 days the team started training on their home pitch that is the Cooperage Football ground.

Previous practice games played – The team play’s regularly against the men’s team, They also play in the MDFA 1st division.
as well as friendlies against local clubs.

Previous Record: In the previous edition of the tournament, they finished rock-bottom in the Maharashtra Zone.
