SHILLONG: As many as 350 Children participated in the Lajong Grassroots Festival in Mawlai today. Head of Youth Development Coach Gumpe Rime, Lajong Coaching Staff and Operations Team were present to give the Children football training and exposed them to several fun activities.

The football field was divided into eight zones. Football games, technical drills, and many more, was organised to get the kids involved in playing football. The aim was to promote learning by having a good time playing the game of football.

The Children today also got the chance to learn, understand and improve football techniques and the training sessions also helped them to express themselves and develop through play.

Head of Youth Development Coach Gumpe Rime said, “The response was massive today and we had to divide it into two sessions. But it was worth the effort and we also got to see so much of talent.”

“With many more venues to go, we hope to reach out to as many Children as possible and we expect more children to participate in the upcoming venues.”

“We are immensely thankful to the President and Members of Mawlai Phutmawri as well as Mawlai Nongpdeng for helping us in organising the festival and making it a grand success today.”

10th December – Smit in Smit Football Stadium at 10am.

12th December – Sohra in Sohra Sports Association Stadium at 10am.

15th December – Umpling in Umpling Ground at 10am.

17th December – Mawprem and Lumsohphoh in Lumsohphoh Ground at 10am.

19th December – Rynjah and Pohksheh in Pohksheh Ground at 10am.

21st December – Jaiaw Langsning and Jaiaw Pdeng in Madan Student at 10am.
