NEW DELHI: The 2014/15 edition of the U-19 I-League will start on December 13, 2014.
This season, the teams will be grouped in four zones – Maharahstra Zone, Goa Zone, Kolkata Zone, and the Rest of India Zone, respectively. The first match day of the tournament will see teams participating from all the three zones, except the Rest of India Zone, who will be starting their campaign in 2015.
DSK Shivajians from the Maharashtra Zone will be making their debut in the tournament, along with Mizoram outfit Chanmari FC, Kashmir outfit Lonestar Kashmir FC, and new I-League entrants Kalyani Bharat FC.
The teams from the four zones:
MAHARASHTRA ZONE – Mumbai FC, Pune FC, Kenkre FC, PIFA Sports, DSK Shivajians
GOA ZONE – Dempo SC, Salgaocar FC, Sesa Academy, AIFF Elite Academy, Sporting Clube de Goa.
KOLKATA ZONE – Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, United SC, Mohammedan Sporting
REST OF INDIA ZONE – Bengaluru FC, Aizawl FC, Chanmari FC, Hindustan FC, Shillong Lajong FC, Royal Wahingdoh FC, Kalyani Bharat FC, Lonestar Kashmir FC, Tata Football Academy
The teams will play in a Home and Away league system, except the Rest of India Zone, who will be divided into two groups and will play a single leg league.
The top two teams from each zone will qualify for the Final Round, while the top team from each group of the Rest of India zone will qualify.
