GOA: The young Flaming Oranje gave a perfect birthday gift to their President Mr. Peter Vaz as they rolled over Ponda Footballers 14-0 to register their third successive win in the GFA U-14 League at Don Bosco Ground, Panjim. It was raining goals as Sporting lads came up with a dazzling performance to continue where they left of last week.

Right from the start Sporting managed to keep the ball in the Ponda Footballers half and saw numerous chances go wasted until the 18th minute when Shanon Viegas converted a good incoming pass from the mid field to break the dead lock putting the Flaming Oranje ahead. The next five minutes saw Shanon play some beautiful football to set up Elijan Fernandes who got on the score sheet before scoring one more on his own, quickly giving Sporting a comfortable 3 – 0 lead over the span of 8 minutes. Anthony Fernandes who displayed some amazing ball skills in the last match continued his fine form to net two more goals for Sporting before the first half taking the score to 5-0 before switching ends.

The second half belonged to Anthony and Shanon who combined well to create a gazillion chances for Sporting. The Ponda Footballers though showed some really good fighting spirit were no match for the pace of this two. Anthony added 3 more to pocket 5 goals in total while Shenon netted 4 to make his personal score 6 for the evening. Sporting were sitting comfortable with the healthy lead and good possession to control the game completely. Towards the closing stages Benjamin Lobo & Alger Da Costa netted one each for Sporting to beat their previous winning margin making this a 14-0 affair.
