GOA: Two goals from the talisman striker Odafa Okolie in either half’s and one each from James Fernandes and Marcus Mascarenhas scripted an all important 4 -1  victory for Sporting against Guardian Angel SC, as they now have the title clearly within sight. With this victory Sporting continue to remain on top of the table with 36 points which is the maximum their closest rival Churchill Bors can reach, however the Flaming Oranje have one additional match in hand.

The match started off with Sporting’s unchallenged dominance. Odafa Okolie, Alber Gonsalves and Akeraj Martins combined well to create some serious trouble for Guardian Angel back line. The first goal came in at the 20th minute from a fabulous move created in the mid. Akeraj Martins send in a dangerous cross which was intercepted by Mauvin Borges whose shot hit the wood work and came back into play, Odafa Okolie who was as usual at the right spot tapped home the first goal for Sporting. Rest of the first half saw limited action though Sporting had a few good moves towards the end.

The second half saw Sporting run away with the show at the 50th minute when a powerful shot by Alber Gonsalves hit to post and came back straight to James Fernandes who was never missing form such a close range making it 2 – 0 in favour of Sporting.

Soon in the 60th minute Odafa made a magical move as he dribbled past 4 Guardian Angel players to drill in a shot from almost 20 yards away. In less than 2 minutes James Fernandes had another glorious opportunity as he came face to face against the keeper but misfired the shot high up into the clouds.

In the 76th minute Guardian Angel pulled one back through Esteven Mendes who send in a curling ball perfectly beating Kamaljit Singh who otherwise had a good day in between the posts.

Towards the injury time Sporting added one more to the score line as Marcus Mascarenhas headed home a perfect cross from the foot of Harpreet Singh in the left making things worse for Guardian Angel.
