MUMBAI: Since the forgettable run of six defeats, Mumbai FC have garnered two draws against the title contenders before taking on newbies Minerva Punjab FC at their backyard tomorrow (February 26, 2017).

Unbeaten in the five games, Minerva Punjab FC seems to be on a roll as coach agreed about it too, “In the beginning it was difficult but we have improved the team in gelling well and boys have performed so the results are good.”

When asked about the results being expected or beyond it, Coach opined that his team could still do well and will only improve, while also adding that his team is very fit and without any injury concerns.

The Gaffer looked prepared about his opponents, Mumbai FC who have improved from six consecutive losses to two draws against none but Mohan Bagan and Bengaluru FC.

Surinder Singh went on saying, “Definitely, they are a good team, drawing against Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC, they have also managed to win their first two home games so it will be tough but we are prepared.”

Mumbai FC were shocked in the reverse fixture and they will be raring to turn things around this time. When asked about the preparation, the coach replied, “Excellent I believe, we were in a bad phase and we couldn’t win last time around, we couldn’t play to our abilities in the away game and also away matches are always challenging. But since then we have improved coming after six losses to two draws against Mohan Bagan and Bengaluru FC.”

He continued, “We could have won against Mohan Bagan in the first half itself. So we are very confident of tomorrow’s game and look for a win.”

When asked about player’s availability based on the recent news of three players being released and selection for the match, the coach replied, “I have not yet decided, I will see it today and decide but everybody is available now.”

Hero of the Match from the last match, Densill Theobald seemed well adjusted to the I-league, “It was difficult at the start since I have come from a far away but now I am very confident, know my teammates well and their game, which helps me to gel and continue playing like the last two games.”

The T&T attacker seemed confident of improving the ranking, “We are looking to finish in the top 3 which is not beyond us, a couple of wins and other result backing us and we are back in.”

When nudged again about reports of players being released, Coach Kashyap immediately retorted, “Not true” clearing all doubts.

The match is slated to kick off at 07:00 PM and it’ll be telecast live on Ten 2.
