NEW DELHI: Lonestar Kashmir have always been the flagbearer of J&K football since they saw the daylight in 2013. The three-year-old club have always hit the chord at the right time while it comes about the Second Division League.

“See, we’ve always been represented the entire state of J&K in Indian Football and we’ll continue to do so”, Hilal Rasool Parray, Head Coach stated while www.i-league.org caught up with him.

Incidentally, the team stuttered on the first match, having suffered a 0-1 loss against their cross-state rivals Real Kashmir.

On the road, they opened the account overpowering Sudeva Moonlight FC at the Ambedkar Stadium in the capital city.

Although they shared the spoils with Delhi United, they had to bite the dust once again against Real Kashmir.
The National Finals berths were at stake and Lonestar Kashmir went straight into the business next match onwards. Back-to-back thumping victories against Delhi United and Sudeva Moonlight FC in the reverse leg sealed the deal for them.

“Mostly, the success gives us the solace as we fielded an ‘all-Indian’ squad throughout the tournament. Apart from a lad from Punjab, everyone else is from J&K, which one is the best possible advertisement for the state football”, the eloquent coach exuded.

Meanwhile, the J&K outfit have to lock their horns with Delhi United, Neroca FC, Southern Samity, Fateh Hyderabad AFC and Kenkre FC in the final round to get the gatepass to the next tier of Indian Football ecosystem. Whatever be the end result at the end of the day, Lonestar Kashmir have already won the hearts for their enchanting brand of football.
